" The book is an interesting introduction to the subject of Pakistan's liberation from British colonial rule and a biting indictment of Indian flip-flop on the important question of Kashmir. Reading it one gets the impression that the author combines vivid memories of a determined Pakistani nationalist and the diligence and enthusiasm of an inquisitive writer. The work touches on all the issues that reverberate in the firmaments of political debates in south Asia. The author was definitely very well grounded in the history of the region and his familiarity with the sources was strengthened by his insightful analysis of the psychology of the human beings who were selected by destiny to lead south Asians in their battle against colonialism. Regardless of how one may think about his views on Pakistan and her struggles against India, one cannot deny that Dr. Abul Maali Syed is a definite contributor to the evergrowing literature on Pakistani nationalist historiography. His book will remain here as a living testimony that he cared very much about what happened to Muslim Pakistanis and did something about it by writing a powerful book. "
